The SMSTS Refresher course is designed for site managers, supervisors, and project leaders who need to update and renew their health and safety knowledge. It revisits key topics such as risk management, legal responsibilities, and safe site practices, ensuring participants remain compliant with current regulations and maintain high safety standards on construction sites.
The CITB SMSTS Refresher course is a renewal programme for individuals who already hold a valid Site Management Safety Training Scheme certificate and wish to extend their qualification for an additional five years. The course helps participants refresh and update their health and safety knowledge, covering changes in legislation, approved codes of practice, and industry best practices.
To renew their SMSTS qualification, individuals must submit a copy of their original five-day SMSTS course certificate. Only those who have successfully completed the full five-day course and can provide proof are eligible to attend the two-day refresher course.
Upon completion of this SMSTS Refresher training, candidates will be able to:
Assessment is continuous throughout the SMSTS Refresher training via individual and group exercises. Testing of the knowledge learned during the five days is in the form of a multiple choice CITB examination paper consisting of 25 questions. The pass the exam a score of 80% (28 out of 35) will be required.
Failure to provide this on the first day of the course is likely to result in the delegate not being allowed to attend or complete the training.
Full attendance throughout the duration of the training is required
All delegates must have a good understanding of written & spoken English.
